Site Design & Re-design

Looks are not everything, but, at some level, we all make some judgments on appearance. Choosing where we spend our time on the Internet is no different. What do we really want on a website? We want functionality, we want information, and we want usability. But we want it to look good, too!

Why does design matter? Well, before a user has the chance to read about your company, products, or services, click through your galleries, or take advantage of the tools on your site, they'll take in every detail of your site's design, colors, and layout. The web is intensely visual. In most cases, the design and layout of your site will determine whether your visitor will stay or leave.

Designing Websites

The design process usually begins with planning out the site structure. How many pages should your web site have and what are those pages going to be, how long are the pages and how they should be laid out, what colors to use, where to place your logo, etc. I work with you through this process: we plan together since I have expertise on the Internet, and you have the expertise of your business!

Re-designing Websites

It is important to keep in mind the original intent or concept of your web site. Redesigning is a lot more work once you actually have pages to change. I work closely with clients during the re-design process to ensure the quality and purpose of the web site. It is also very important that all of the elements on your website work together to create an appealing look and feel that is consistent throughout the site. Remember, the ultimate aim of site design is to make your web site both attractive and usable; neither is much good without the other.
